  • I love how everyone blames unions for all the problems. Try looking at your politicans. They are the ones spending the money and giving away the bank. I have negotiated many contracts in the 25 years I was in the the union and we never got anything for free. Its a give and take.

  • Whether you like Obama or not he is now the man who must make the decision about sending troops into battle. There is noe easy way to make the decision on Afghanistan. Do some research on the Russian experience on battling the Taliban in Afghanistan.

  • As with any Military or Para-military organization, you follow the chain of command. Its an officers job to pass along the information or plans requested to his/her superiors and then let the President or Chief make the final decision. This isn't about what MCChrystal wants.

  • General McChrystal is a soldier and was doing his job when he put together his assessment of what he feels he needs to do his job. The only issue is that he should not have come out publically at this time. It is up to the Commander in Chief, The President, to set the course in Afghanistan.

  • Foreign Policy is not easy at all. While I agree we need to stop the Taliban and Al Qaeda I agree with VP Biden that we have to be careful we do not end up in a quagmire. Those who follow foreign affairs and even those who don't remember Russia's 10 year slide into quick sand in Afghanistan.

  • People seem to forget that Iraqis want our troops out by 2012. We are gardually removing approximately 80,000 troops over the next 16 months or so. We will have a reactionary force of about 50,000 there till 2012. We are not abandoning them. Iraq needs to step up to the plate sooner than later.
